The season started yesterday. What a great day. I started again to drink wine after over 40 days of "detox". I do this every year, starting on the 1st of January; it became a real practice and not only it is easy, but also necessary. Now my liver cells are all rejouvanited and ready for lovely wines to taste...have many bottles in row ready...
It has been a great day also because I partecipated with Martin to a really beautiful wine event in San Quirico, My Wine. Thanks to the superb organization of the Orcia Doc Wine Consortium, all went very well and many buyers from all over the world partecipated. From Finland to Brazil to South Corea. So many interesting contacts.
And today another very positive day, I had lunch with Dick Mercer from www.experienceitaly.com. We have been known since few years, I appreciate very much his style and attention in chosing special situations for travellers. Give a look at their website if you can. We had lunch in San Quirico (again! I love this town) at my favourite restaurant, "Osenna". Great home made pici with "nana" sauce (duck).And with our small group joined Antonella Piredda, friend of mine above all, and excellent tour guide.
So it was a blend of friendship, work, wine, as I really enjoy.
Dick brought, as usually when he comes and we meet, a bottle of Sangiovese produced in California.
So interesting, of course different from ours, but with a great and full bouquet, very cherrish and fruity in general, charming. Martin behaved very well!
